Venue Review – Village Roadshow
From ‘intimate to epic’ Village Roadshow has something for every event brief. LOUD events were lucky enough to join the team on a jam-packed day of fun visiting five venues from the portfolio. To make you all envious we thought we would take you all along for the ride and give you a peak at what we got up to.
Our day started at Sea World where we were treated to a scrumptious buffet breakfast at Dolphin Cove. A long table was set beside the water and over breakfast the beautiful dolphins put on a spectacular show. We were lucky enough to be able to pat Moki, one of the grandmas of the group, which was a real bucket list moment! What do they feel like you ask? A peeled hard boiled egg!! The space can hold up to 180 guests and is a unique experience for both locals and international guests.
While onsite at Sea World we viewed some of the other event spaces which included the stunning Shark Bay area, a perfect location to host dinners, the Sea World Plaza for larger events and had free time to explore the park. A highlight, meeting a seal in the street (not every day you see that!). The team are happy to create unique experiences and are open to the client’s vision. From here we were ushered to the Sea World Resort conference centre. This space is perfect for a range of events with state of the art technology to boot. The space has that ‘new’ feeling and is so versatile, also not a problem for events with an exhibition component. Fresh produce is grown onsite and we were treated to lunch complete with Morton bay bugs and delicious salads prepared in front of us by the head chef. The resort has an impressive inventory of rooms which is perfect for conference groups wishing to stay onsite who don’t want to host their event in the traditional ‘hotel’. There are also extra offers available for guests including private diving experiences with the sharks and discounted theme park entry.
Our next stop; The Australian Outback Spectacular. A great option for groups with a three course dinner and show, the new show being unveiled in December. The venue can be booked exclusively on nights that the show is not operating. Being an Australiana themed venue, this really helps those with a tighter budget looking for something unique.
Behind this venue is Paradise Country, a hidden gem in the portfolio. There are so many interactive options for guests at the event that you are sure to be able to create something very special here. From having a stockman round up your coaches as guests enter, to gumboot throwing, cuddling koalas, damper making; the list goes on. The event spaces can accommodate up to 200 guests in a stunning hall for dinner.
The newest addition to the group is Top Golf. We had a great time at the driving range with full service catering. The experience is a mix between golf, darts and bowling. Digest that haha!
Our final stop was Movie World. For small and large groups this venue has any group covered. Whether its dinner in the Justice League Hall for 60 guests or an extravaganza down main street under the icicle lights for 1000, your guests will leave amazed. One of the great advantages of this space is the themed props and performers on offer. Let your imagination run wild as the events that can be created will definitely be remembered. On this night in particular we were ‘thrilled’ by a zombie flash mob performing to Michael Jackson’s thriller. We were then offered cocktails from IV bags, delicious and not one of us hesitated. We chowed down on pulled pork sliders with gravy in syringes and finished the night in the spooky house for dessert.
There were too many special touches to list, all we can say is thank you to the Village Roadshow team, we left feeling amazed, excited and very full! Oh and with a big smile from ear to ear!
