Venue Review – Sunshine Coast Convention Centre

It is here! The new Sunshine Coast Convention Centre (SCCC) has opened its doors and LOUD events were lucky enough to be one of the very first clients to work in the centre.

Located within the lush grounds of the Novotel Twin Waters, the Centre is everything you would hope to see within a conference venue. The Minyama room can cater for up to 1,500 people theatre style or 1,100 for a gala dinner. The room can divide into 4 separate break out rooms catering for between 300 – 450 people in theatre style seating. For a full list of room capacities please click here.

One of the most exciting aspects of these spaces is the investment that has been made in the audio-visual department. More than 170 integrated moving lights and 48 coloured temperature controlled house lights complemented with 24 x 3.5m LED walls including separate movable panels has been installed meaning the options really are endless. You can create a memorable experience with the help of the team at AV Partners no matter the budget. From experience, the team are more than happy to assist in bringing a vision to life and have a bag full of tricks if budget allows.

Lunches and breaks are set in the arrivals hall or just outside the room amongst the natural bushland background. To be out in the fresh air and natural light is a proven strategy to refresh delegates to ensure they’re retaining the program content.

Within the arrivals hall is a purpose-built secretariat area and registration desk. This is one of the simpler things we look for, but it makes all the difference in aiding to keep an event running smoothly. There is also a fantastic venue operations team who are more than happy to assist.
What makes the venue unique is the space that is available to create your event. You really are not restricted by the four walls of a building. With a huge open field, Wandiny room (perfect for exhibitions), Lorikeet Beach, The Jungle, Village Green, support restaurants and more event spaces within the main hotel foyer, the venue gives the organiser a hub to create and build a unique program.

Recently LOUD took the challenge and created a 4-day program for 400 delegates – below is a snapshot;

Day 1: Exhibition bump in – Wandiny Room

Day 2: Conferencing in the new Minyama rooms

For future events we would definitely recommend looking into the Novotel Twin Waters with the new Sunshine Coast Convention Centre, it will surprise you!
