Team Building with Drones

Over the past few years, drones have become central to the functions of various businesses – they have helped organisations resurrect industries that were lagging or lacking innovation. They’ve changed everything.

So we thought to ourselves, “Can we design a team challenge with drones?”, and if so, “What does it look like?”. LOUD has teamed up with Banana Life and what we came up with is based on a classic ‘strategise, design and build’ format, but with an aspect of playfulness. Teams are challenged to assemble their drone, build an obstacle course using mostly recycled materials, strategise on the most efficient use of materials, attend ‘Drone School’ and then attempt each team’s course to get the fastest overall time.

Best of all, each member of the winning team keeps all the drones! This activity is thrilling and grandiose, while retaining its appeal to the more technical and conceptual thinkers. Construction-based challenges such as these provide team with opportunities to collaborate with teammates under pressure to analyse and solve problems, develop team dynamics through technology, and encourages innovative thinking.
