Seated Fun

In 2020 the face of gala dinners has changed. No longer are we all sitting snugly in groups of 10 around a banquet table. Most venues will see 4 – 6 people now per table dependant on the size of table. This can make it pretty tricky to maintain the atmosphere in the room, as event planners this is one of the most important indicators and easiest ways to gauge the success of an event.

The LOUD team overcame this at a recent event by putting together four hours of entertainment for guests to enjoy, both roving, on stage and placed throughout the room. Here are three ways to entertain guests while they are seated for your event:

  1. Roving entertainment – if guests cannot move towards the entertainment let the entertainers come to them – COVID safe of course. LOUD loves roving magicians or caricaturists that are engaging and can really draw in an audience. There are so many options in this space, you just need a sprinkle of creativity.

  1. Activity – trivia is something that brings out the competitive streak in just about anyone. Why not tailor the trivia questions to your organisation’s key messaging or use this as a reminder for what your team have achieved over the year. This concept could also extend to an entertaining musical experience to deliver an amazing interactive songwriting experience and an unforgettable show.

  1. Gamification or the use of an App – the tech space is one that has developed exponentially over the last 6 months. The options here are literally limitless, there is a program for just about every concept. Why not create mini challenges throughout the night and encourage interaction through targeted push notifications. Results can be displayed via a leader board with engagement trends followed and used for future events.
