Let’s Get This Show on the Road
The LOUD team got the ‘Show on the Road’ on Friday night at Victoria Park Marquee with 100 of our celebrated industry colleagues. The event saw us rally together, socialise and show hope for the rebuilding of the industry in Queensland. As a collective we wanted to demonstrate that it is possible to safely hold corporate business events in the current climate. With more than enough space for social distancing, regular reminders about COVID safety and enough hand sanitiser to make you swoon, we adapted our party to suit the new world order.
Kendall Gilding from Channel 7 welcomed Daniel Gschwind to speak, Chief Executive of QTIC – Queensland’s peak tourism industry body. Daniel was directly involved in writing the COVID-19 business events plan for Queensland and is on the frontline in lobbying Government for support for COVID affected businesses in this sector.
The event was designed with the following aims – Firstly to check in with each other and a message of ‘Are you OK?” as we feel it is essential to provide an opportunity for the event community to come together and provide some hope. Secondly, to showcase how to host events and for us to use this event as a prototype in safely hosting events by following industry created guidelines. Also, recognising the industry is still struggling and we need ongoing government support. Finally, as a reminder that Queensland Corporates and government agencies need to be recruiting and using Queensland businesses first as a show of support during these times.
We would like to thank all who were involved in its success. The event was a massive collaboration including the following businesses: Victoria Park, P3 Events, Dreamweavers, TPD Media, Kath Rose and Associates, AVIdeas, Velvet Rope, Gathering Events, Mogul Media, Twisted Pair Productions, Frankly Social and Staging Creations.
