Get Smart with Franky Smart

One band that we are absolutely loving at the moment is Franky Smart – a Brisbane based jazz-inspired quartet led by Claire Walters, a stunning performer with a voice like molten chocolate. As a graduate of the QLD Conservatorium of Music, she holds a bachelor of Music majoring in Jazz Vocals and performs with numerous corporate bands both nationally and overseas.

Shortly after taking out James Morrison’s ‘Generations In Jazz’ scholarship, Franky Smart set off on a world tour, singing at the great clubs across the USA including Birdland – New York City, Taranaki Arts Festival, The Green Mill – Chicago and The Hong Kong Underbelly. Now back in Australia, Franky Smart is painting the town red as one of Brisbane’s hardest working talents.

LOUD recently had Franky Smart join us again for a conference dinner. These are usually quite low-key, unremarkable affairs but in contrast, we had the following feedback from the client:

“The attendees very much enjoyed the band. They didn’t even wait until dessert was served to hit the dance floor!”

Franky Smart also attempted a Metallica inspired Happy Birthday for one of the delegates. Now that’s flexibility!
