60 Years for Charity
Australia’s longest running charity dinner, the Xavier Dinner, enters its 60th year of supporting small charity groups this August.
This unique charity dinner has raised a combined $3.5 million in donations for charities including The Pyjama Foundation, The Mater Foundation, and this year’s beneficiary, The Mary Mackillop Brisbane Catholic School Access Fund. The Mary Mackillop Fund provides educational support for children experiencing significant financial hardship.
Xavier Dinner president Sean McMahon said it was an incredible achievement to reach 60 years of The Xavier Dinner. “This milestone marks 60 years of supporting small charities trying to make a big impact,” said Mr McMahon. “It’s a true example of what we can achieve when the community comes together,” he said.
This year’s dinner will be held on Thursday 29 August 2019 at Victoria Park Golf Complex with radio host David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral as emcee, and speeches from Rugby League star Allan ‘Alfie’ Langer and Broncos coach Anthony Seibold.
